The Standing List

Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This policy explains what personal information The Standing List ("we," "us," "our") collects, how we use it, and — most importantly — the limits on how it's shared. In short: we collect what we need to plan your trip and secure your reservations, and we do not sell or share your information with third parties beyond that purpose, without your permission.

2. What We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number
  • Trip details: destination(s), dates, occasion, preferences, group size, and any other details you share to help us plan your itinerary
  • Payment information: processed directly by Stripe, our third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card number or payment credentials ourselves. Stripe holds PCI DSS Level 1 certification — the highest level of payment card industry compliance — and also maintains SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certifications, meaning it's independently audited on a recurring basis and encrypts payment data both in transit and at rest. Because Stripe handles the transaction directly, your card details never pass through or get stored on our own systems.
  • Communications: messages you send us via our contact form, email, or during the planning process
  • Waitlist/interest form details: if you apply for early access to our on-the-ground membership tier
  • Basic technical data: standard website analytics (e.g., pages visited), if enabled on our site

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Plan and deliver your itinerary
  • Secure reservations, introductions, and access on your behalf — this is the primary reason we may need to share limited details (such as your name, date, and party size) with a specific restaurant, venue, host, or driver in order to complete a booking or introduction you've requested
  • Communicate with you about your itinerary, application, or inquiry
  • Process payment for services you've purchased
  • Send you updates or field-notes content, only if you've opted in to our email list
  • Improve our services and content

4. What We Do Not Do

For bookings, we do not share more information than necessary to fulfill a specific request. For example, if we're securing a restaurant reservation for you, we share only what that restaurant needs (typically your name, date, time, and party size) — not your full trip details, contact history, or payment information.

5. Who We Share Information With

  • Venues, hosts, drivers, and local contacts — solely to arrange the specific reservation, introduction, or access you've asked for.
  • Payment processors (e.g., Stripe) — to process payment securely; they have their own privacy practices governing that data.
  • Service providers who support our operations (e.g., email, marketing or scheduling tools), bound to use your data only to provide that service to us

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as necessary to deliver the service you've requested and to maintain reasonable business records, or until you request deletion (see Section 8). Email list subscribers' information is retained until you unsubscribe.

7. International Clients

Because we work with clients and venues across multiple countries — including within the European Union (e.g., Ibiza) — some of you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR, including the right to access, correct, or delete your data, and to know exactly who it's been shared with. We aim to honor these rights for all clients, regardless of location.

8. Your Rights

You can, at any time:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your information (subject to any legal or contractual obligations requiring us to retain certain records)
  • Unsubscribe from any email communications, via the link in any email or by contacting us directly

9. Cookies & Analytics

Our site may use basic analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site. We do not use these to build advertising profiles or share this data with advertisers.

10. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of information you provide to us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

12. Contact
